Who we are
Nichijō ("we", "us") provides private fitness circles for small groups. Workouts are the lead signal, with sleep and steps as supporting context when you choose to connect them.

Data we collect
- Basics you submit: name, email, circle name, group size, start date, timezone.
- Activity summaries (optional): with your permission, we read summary values needed to power your circle, such as workouts, total steps/day, and sleep duration/night. On iOS we use Apple Health. On Android we use Android Health Connect. Other workout sources can work when they write to Apple Health or Health Connect.
- Manual uploads (optional): you may choose to upload a screenshot or photo for a post. These are user-provided uploads.
- Form responses: if you join via our Tally form (name, email, preferences).
- Technical info: IP address, device/browser info, pages and errors — collected by our host for reliability and security.
- Attribution params (optional): UTM and ad click IDs (e.g.,
utm_source,gclid,fbclid,ttclid) when present in the URL.
We do not collect diagnoses or medical records. Nichijō is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.
How we use data
- Run the product: create circles, show group dashboards, power posts, and send circle notifications.
- Communicate: onboarding, reminders, updates, support.
- Improve reliability and security; prevent abuse.
- Measure what marketing works (anonymous/aggregate reporting).
- Comply with legal requests when required.
Where data comes from
- You: info you type or upload.
- Your device: Apple Health on iOS and Health Connect on Android (explicit permission required). We read only the categories you allow.
- Third-party tools: our form and hosting providers (see below).
Sharing & processors
We use vendors to run Nichijō. They process data on our behalf and under contract:
- Hosting/CDN: Vercel (site hosting, logs).
- Forms: Tally (onboarding submissions).
- Email: TODO email provider (e.g., Postmark/SendGrid/Mailgun).
- Analytics/Attribution (optional): Google Analytics, Meta/TikTok pixels if you enable them on the site.
We don’t sell personal data. We don’t share health data with advertisers.
Health data permissions
Apple Health and Health Connect data is optional and is used only to power Nichijō features you choose to use: verified check-ins, activity summaries, sleep context, group dashboards, and related reminders. We request access only to implemented categories such as workouts, steps, and sleep. We do not request heart-rate data unless a future feature clearly needs it and asks for your permission.
You can revoke health permissions in your device settings at any time. If you revoke access, Nichijō stops reading new health data from that source, though previously synced summaries may remain in your account until you delete them or ask us to delete them.
Retention
We keep data only as long as needed to run your circle and meet legal obligations. Typical guides:
- Circle metrics, dashboard summaries, and posts: kept while your account/circle is active (delete on request).
- Form submissions & emails: up to 18 months for ops and auditing (delete sooner on request).
- Server logs: ~12 months for security & diagnostics.
Security
We use modern hosting, encryption in transit, scoped access, and least-privilege practices. No system is perfectly secure; if we detect a breach affecting you, we’ll notify you and relevant authorities as required.
Your choices & rights
- Access / export: ask for a copy of your data.
- Delete: ask us to erase your data (we’ll also instruct our processors).
- Correct: request fixes to inaccurate info.
- Opt-out of marketing: unsubscribe links in emails.
- “Do Not Sell/Share” (CCPA/CPRA): we don’t sell personal data; if we ever introduce ad personalisation, we’ll add a clear opt-out here.

Children
Nichijō isn't for children. We don't knowingly collect data from users under 16 (or the age required in your region). If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we'll delete it.
International
We're based in the United States. If you access Nichijō from outside the U.S., your data may be processed and stored in the U.S. We honor applicable rights and will work with you on requests.
Changes
We’ll update this page when our practices change. We’ll post the new date at the top and, if changes are material, we’ll notify you.
